When It comes to favorites, Keto Lemon Lime Fat Bombs are at the top or very near the top of the list of my favorites. I enjoy the slightly tart flavor because it does not feel as much like a dessert as many of the other fat bomb recipes I will be sharing with you over the next few weeks.
I will warn you up front, if you are new to the ketogenic lifestyle, you need to remember that fat bombs have a place in the diet but you don’t want to start eating them like candy. We use them to up our fat percentage when our numbers are a little to close between the protein and the fat. My goal is 5% Net Carbs, 20% Protein and 75% Good Fat which can be a challenge at times.
There are full Keto Friendly Desserts available once you get to be completely keto but I would suggest that you save making those until you are completely into ketosis so that you are not temped to add other foods to your diet and mess it up. After you are in ketosis, you can play around a little with your carbs and still remain in ketosis. When you are well established, you can cycle in and out of ketosis one or two days a month without messing up your program.
- 4 T. Grass fed butter
- 4 T. organic coconut oil
- 16 oz. full fat cream cheese
- 4 T. heavy cream
- Juice of 1 Lime
- 1 t. Lemon extract
- Himalayan Salt to taste
- 4 almond halves
- 4 Pecan halves
- 4 Walnut halves
- Start by heating the cream cheese in a sauce pan over low heat, adding the butter and coconut oil as it softens.
- Whisk until the three are completely blended
- Add the heavy cream and continue to whisk until it is blended into the mizx.
- Add the lime juice as well as the lemon extract. Mix well
- Pour into plastic mini-mold tray and garnish with the nut assortment
- Place in the freezer until mixture hardens (4 hours but can remain there over night
- Pop each bomb out of the tray and put them into a zip-lock plastic bsg.
- Return to the freezer until needed.

With the ketogenic diet or lifestyle eating healthy fats is very important if for no other reason, we eat so much of it. For that reason most fat bombs will contain coconut oil, coconut butter or MCT oil or a combination of two of those. With the Keto Lemon Lime Fat Bombs, as with many others, you will not taste the coconut oil or butter because the other flavors are stronger.
The important thing to consider as you start making your own fat bombs is that they are not a main course but are here to help us stay in ketos when we need more fat to reach our daily goals. So, do enjoy them but only within limits.
